ARNP Nichol Halverson Joins the LOA Staff
Longview Orthopedic Associates has added nurse practitioner Nichol Halverson to the staff. She is currently training with LOA physicians and PAs and will begin seeing patients on October 1st.
Halverson earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University of Phoenix, Arizona, before completing a Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) degree at Washington State University.
"I like learning new things and being challenged," she said. "This is a great opportunity for me to work with an amazing group of providers."
Before joining Longview Orthopedic Associates, she worked as an RN for Peace Health Medical Group, where her clinical rotations included pediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health, family practice, and orthopedics. This will be her first job as a nurse practitioner.
Halverson’s duties at LOA will include diagnosing, ordering diagnostic imaging, giving injections, treating non-operative fractures and other conditions, seeing patients in the post-operative phase, and directing patients to LOA surgeons if an operative problem is discovered.
"It’s wonderful to be able to stay local and serve my community," she said. "I’m very grateful for this opportunity."
She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Washington State Nurses’ Association, and the American Nurses’ Association.
She enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending time with her daughter.
