Dr. Kung Attends Advanced Shoulder Workshop
Peter Kung, MD, of Longview Orthopedic Associates was one of 15 surgeons invited to attend the Mitek Sports Medicine Masters Shoulder Course in Boston, Massachusetts, in late October.
Dr. Kung was joined by highly accredited and talented shoulder surgeons from China, South Africa, and the U.S. The workshop focused on techniques for performing a number of challenging arthroscopic shoulder procedures.
"Arthroscopic surgery enables us to have better visualization, which means problems that may not be visible on the MRI can be addressed," Kung said. "Arthroscopic surgery is also minimally invasive and can translate into fewer wound problems than with open surgery."
Dr. Kung completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
"I’m always interested in honing my skills and continuing to learn from the masters," Kung said. "Continuing education is what helps physicians stay ahead of the curve, and the workshop I attended in Boston was a great opportunity to do just that."
Dr. Kung specializes in arthroscopic minimally invasive shoulder and knee procedures but provides general orthopedic services as well. He has performed more than 1,000 arthroscopic procedures during his four-year tenure at Longview Orthopedic Associates.
